Agilent Technologies Inc. proudly announced the 14 latest models of its FieldFox handheld microwave analyzers. The new RF analyzers endured rigorous field testing and highly-accurate analysis of satellite communications and wireless backhaul in rough conditions.
Agilent has a wide lineup of RF analyzers such as the N9912A RF analyzer (4 or 6 GHz) and the N9923A RF vector network analyzer (4 or 6 GHz.) Its new FieldFox models add two new RF combination analyzers to the mix: the N9913A (4 GHz) and the N9914A (6.5 GHz) analyzers.
Among their many applications, FieldFox RF units can analyze satellite communications, microwave backhaul, military communications, and radar systems. They are built for harsh environmental conditions and remote locations.
Each model is a three-kilogram package and is set to cover one of four frequencies: 9, 14, 18 or 26.5 GHz. Users can set them up to serve as cable-and-antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, or even all-in-one combination analyzers.
The completely sealed enclosure complies with U.S. Military standards regarding durability in the field. The Agilent FieldFox microwave vector network analyzers are of a portrait-style vertical orientation for easy use by people wearing gloves, with the large buttons being conducive to users’ thumbs.
FieldFox VNAs have an industry-first QuickCal function that allows it to quickly and easily calibrate external accessories attached to its test port without the need for an external calibration kit. The full two-port S-parameter measurements boast of a remarkably low trace noise and superior dynamic range.
In addition to ensuring industry-leading amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB at power-up, FieldFox microwave spectrum analyzers do not need warm-up. Users can instantly and precisely characterize transmitter power. FieldFox units can also detect more signals in the band of interest with phase noise of -111 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. They can further measure low-level signals in the presence of wireless transmitters with spur-free dynamic range of 105 dB.
The base function of FieldFox’s all-in-one combination analyzers is to analyze cable and antenna used in satellite communications, wireless backhaul, and military systems. Users can configure the instrument to perform spectrum, and vector network analysis.
FieldFox analyzers can be ordered with a built-in power meter, independent signal generator, vector voltmeter, interference analysis, variable DC source, frequency counter, and built-in GPS receiver.
