Singapore Technologies Electronics, the electronics division of Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering) announced that the its subsidiary has been awarded contracts approximately 151 million Singapore dollars to develop rail electronics, satellite communications and smart utility projects.
The satellite communications and sensor business of ST Electronics won contracts nearly 78 million Singapore dollars to provide products and network infrastructure, which includes the following: Agilis Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) and earth station equipment, iDirect satellite hubs and routers for e-Government, as well as cellular backhaul and maritime VSAT solutions.
Thanks to the successful launches of new High-Throughput Satellites (HTS), it helped ST Electronics give birth to enhanced speeds at competitive service costs, speeding up satellite communications adoption on a broader scale by many industries.
Meanwhile, ST Electronics also bagged about 65 million Singapore dollars in the rail electronics and intelligent transportation market for mass rapid transit projects in Malaysia, North America and Taiwan. In the smart utilities division, the company got approximately 8 million Singapore dollars worth of contracts to implement and support a Customer Information System, as well as an Advanced Metering Infrastructure solution.
